The Housing Repair Dialog Card Game contains teaching instructions and student handouts for repair problems and repairman names, plus 8 card decks on different-coloured card stock. (You need 2 decks per group of 3 to 5 students.)
To play, students take turns asking another student in the group what the problem is. For example, S1 says, Hi Lee, what’s the matter? and S2 states a problem based on a card they have: My sink is leaking. If S1 has the same card, they say, Me too! But if he doesn’t have the same card, he must give appropriate advice: Maybe you should call a plumber. There are dialog suggestions for Levels 1 to 3, along with substitution suggestions for giving advice and responding to problems. Objective: oral fluency in identifying repair problems and giving advice.

To play, students take turns asking another student in the group where a food item is based on a card they have. For example, S1 says, Excuse me, where are the carrots? If S1 has the same card, they say, The carrots? They’re in the produce section. But if he doesn’t have the same card, he must give a negative answer: The carrots? I’m sorry, I don’t know. There are dialog suggestions for Levels 1 to 3, along with substitution suggestions for asking for location, and expressing and responding to thank-yous.
Objective: oral fluency in asking for location of food in a supermarket using count/non-count and expressing and responding to thank-yous.

There are dialog suggestions for Levels 1 to 3, along with substitution suggestions for inviting, accepting and rejecting.

Objective: Oral fluency in giving and accepting or turning down invitations. Identifying sports using “play” or “go”.
